10 Things To Be Sure You Ask Your Planner

We know choosing your wedding planner can be a daunting task! We're here to help! Here are 10 great questions you should ask your planner before hiring them:


1. “What planning services do you offer?’

  • Here at LP Creative Events, we offer 3 different packages: Full Service Planning, Wedding Management, and Day of Coordination. We also offer other a la cart services that you can add to any package!

2. “Is our proposed wedding date available?”

  • If you have booked a venue and planned anything prior to hiring your planner, it is important that you ask if the planner is available on that specific day. If not, make sure to ask your planner about a few different dates that you would want to shoot for.

3. “What is the cancellation or postponement policy?”

  • This is important to know, especially in these uncertain times!

4. “Do you offer payment plans?”

  • Every planner has a different timeline when it comes to the various payments that are due throughout the whole process. Some planners have some flexibility while others have a more strict policy. Just ask!

5. “Will you handle the dialogue with the vendors?”

  • LP Creative is tied closely to the wedding industry in Colorado and can offer unique touches that will make your guests remember your special day! Over the past several years we have built great relationships with local venues, vendors, rentals and decor, DJs and entertainment, and even AV and production companies. We've got you!

6. “How often will we touch base with you?”

  • Depending on what service package you chose, we will be in contact with you as often as needed! We will never leave you hanging.

7. “Do you have any special discounts with any vendors or services?”

  • Some planners have special relationships with vendors that may offer you a discount! Just ask!

8. “Are you a certified wedding planner?”

  • Many planners chose to go the extra step of getting a wedding planner certification. Owner of LP Creative is working towards her CWIP designation now!

9. “Can you work within our budget?”

  • Although budgeting is not necessarily a fun conversation, it is an important one to have as soon as possible with your planner so you can have a good idea of how to budget going forward and what services you'll be able to afford.

10. “How many people on your staff will be there on the day of my wedding?”

  • Depending on the size of your wedding, we will be sure to have enough staff there to make sure your day runs smoothly and to plan. At minimum, our clients will always have a Lead Planner and a Wedding Specialist!
